What We Believe

  • The Bible is true. The Bible is divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and how we live. (2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:15-16)
  • God has always existed. He exists in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We call this the “Trinity.” (Deuteronomy 6:4)
  • God created the Heavens and the Earth and all that is in it.(Genesis 1:27) He designed us to be in a relationship with Him. He lovingly designed life and we should obey His instructions for life.(Matthew 5:48)
  • Our sin (disobedience) corrupted His perfect design and destroyed our relationship with Him. This means that we deserve God’s punishment: eternal death (Hell).
  • God defeated our sin. Despite our sinning against Him, God lovingly provided His Son, Jesus Christ to take away our punishment. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh (in a Man). His virgin birth, His sinless human life and His divine miracles proved his identity.(Luke 1:34-35) He had no sin of His own. Yet, He died in our place to pay for our sins. (1 Peter 3:18, Romans 5:8-9) He came back to life, showing His power over death. He ascended into Heaven and is there, alive now. (Philippians 2:6-11, Acts 2:24)
  • We are saved from eternal death (Hell) by believing in Jesus Christ and in His work on the cross. We can’t earn salvation because we all have sinned. (Romans 3:23) Jesus does the work. (Titus 3:4–7)
  • God Provides His Holy Spirit to live in the believer. This empowers us to live a holy life, to witness and work for God. (John 14:15–18, Acts 1:8)
  • The real Church consists of all true believers in Jesus Christ. This is not necessarily those who “go to church” on Sunday.
  • We look forward to God making all things right. This is true hope.
    • Jesus Christ will return to earth to finally make things right and to establish His Kingdom. (Matthew 26:64, Hebrews 10:37, Luke 21:27)
    • God will re-create the Heavens and the Earth.
    • Everyone will be resurrected. (1 Corinthians 15: 20-26, John 5:28–29)
      • The saved (people who believe in Jesus Christ) will be restored and live in God’s presence in the New Heavens and New Earth. (Revelation 21:1–4)
      • Those who don’t believe will exist in eternal punishment. (Revelation 21:8)

2 Peter 1:20-21“But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”
2 Timothy 3:15–16 “and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.”
Deuteronomy 6:4“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!; Matthew 28:19 – Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

Philippians 2:6-11 “Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

John 14:15–18“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
Acts 1:8“but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death.”
John 5:28–29“Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.”
Revelation 21:1–4‘Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”’
Revelation 21:8“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
